Identity card printing machine

The machine may print or emboss cards. The cards are placed on a plastics substrate (16) and are introduced into the space (32) between upper (20) and lower (22) printing plates. The plastics substrate may slide on guide rails (28). The pictures or designs (14) to be transferred to the card are supplied on a strip (12) of material unwound from a first roller (18) and passed between the card and the upper printing plate. The printing plates may be heated to encourage the pictures to stick to the cards. The used strip of material may pass over guide rollers (36,38) to a power-driven (M) take-up roll (40).
