Overflow protection system for waste solution container in chromatography

The system uses an immersed pipe (2), hanging down into the upper part of the waste solution container (1), and coupled to one or more pressure sensors (7), associated with warning or switching devices and a device for rinsing the immersion pipe with a gas. The rinsing device uses a buffer volume (6) which is filled with a gas under pressure via a controlled magnetic valve (5), before emptying via the immersion pipe.
