[Also in Group XXI] An indicator, in the shell of a pressure vessel, such as a fire extinguisher, comprises an elastic, e.g. spring steel, circular flanged disc 4 whose curvature is reversed by normal pressure in the vessel and becomes irreversibly large and dome shaped, Fig. 5, when dangerous pressure exists. The disc may be soldered or clamped to the shell and may be circumferentially corrugated so as to make the dome more evident. |
