1,007,506. Controlling reactors. COMMISSARIAT A L'ENERGIE ATOMIQUE. July 26, 1963 [July 31, 1962], No. 29744/63. Heading G6C. [Also in Division F2] In a nuclear reactor safety control, a neutron absorbing fluid may be released rapidly into a container in the reactor core to reduce the reactivity. The fluid is stored under pressure in a chamber 2 and is admitted into a chamber 3 within the core by the fracture of the diaphragm 17, which is supported by the dome 19 and which separates the two chambers. The pressure of the intermediate chamber 4 is normally equal to that of 2 and in an emergency is reduced to that of 3. The diaphragm 13 is deformed and the striker 16 fracture 19 to allow bursting of 13.
|
