The device has a pivoting plate (5) which is mounted on the traveller, and the latter is guided by a profile rail. The plate has an inner spherical surface (8) which opens towards the traveller, and which rests on a spherical head (4). The spherical head is supported on the traveller, and may be arranged on a baseplate (3) which can be fixed to the traveller using a detachable connection. The head may also have an external thread (7), with which it may be screwed into a central threaded bore in the baseplate.
