Slide bearing for use in conditions of high temperature and pressure

The bearing has a plate (1) which is made from a sliding material, and which has a component (t1) of its thickness (t) arranged in a recess in a baseplate (3). The recess is in the form of a chamber (2), and the ratio of t1/t is in the region of about /4 to 3//4. The chamber has at least one additional, elongated depression in the form of a groove (8), at the base of the edge region which is adjacent to its outer edge. The groove may be circumferential, and its depth may be of the order of half of that of the chamber.
