Adjustable collar, especially for shock absorber top on motor vehicle

The adjustable collar has a supporting element which can be adjusted within a region on a wall section (3). The element can be connected to the wall section in each position of adjustment, using detachable fasteners (6,6'). In an initial position inside the adjustment region, a centring pin (11) engages in aligning openings (9,10) in the wall section and the supporting element. The element is formed by an external ring (4) which can be adjusted if the fasteners are released, by removing the pin from one opening (9).
