The device has a cable, a profiled section, a housing enclosure and a cable with at least two electrical conductors (10). There is at least one open contact, such that this is closed by objects with a given minimum size. The device has at least one flat side, and there is a cover fastened to it. When a crossing the object occurs, the contact may be closed if the crossing is by a lifeform within a certain size. The object is designed for high voltage operation and can be electrically floating. The unit has a base with holes for securing it by bolts, nails or cord to another object. It acts as an inducement for parasites. The possibility of electrical contact being made is marked on the device.
