The steering lock comprises a housing (10), a lock cylinder (4) and a core (5). The cylinder core acts upon a control cam which is connected with at least a first stop part (11). The axle of the control cam (6) crosses the steering column (100). The cam-shaped first stop part (11) is part of the control cam. The control cam is connected to the cylinder core via an intermediate part (7) which has an operating cam (8). By turning the cylinder core from the first position into a second position, the control cam forms a screw-shaped movement in the direction of its longitudinal axis.
