Manufacturing method for round or C-shaped fluorescent lamp

A fluorescent lamp comprises several curved tubes in a circular or C shape. There are transition bridges between the curved tubes, and the discharge is between the electrodes at one end of the innermost and outermost curved tube. To manufacture such a lamp, the tubes, each with a closed end, are placed near each together and the areas near the closed ends of each tube are heated evenly, by a burner, where the connections are to be made, to soften them. Then air is blown in from the other ends to form a protruding bridge with a flat jointing face and a circular opening. Finally the adjacent tubes are pressed on to the bridges to make an airtight connection.
