PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid birdie and image disturbing ratio in the superheterodyne receiver. SOLUTION: The receiver is provided with a birdie avoidance section 16 to discriminate whether or not reception frequency is a birdie frequency in response to an detected output DTO and a channel revision signal CC, and in the case of the birdie frequency and IF shift is made for a frequency shift amount▵fS. Furthermore, an offset band pass filter 5 is provided to shift the center frequency f0 of a pass band by a frequency offset fOF with respect to a 1st intermediate frequency fIN1 to bring the image frequency to the outside of the pass band.
