PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a grinding-finished stainless steel exceedingly improved in rust resistance and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This grinding-finished stainless steel excellent in rust resistance is the one in which, in a stage in which a stainless steel contg. at least 12 to 60mass% Cr is subjected to grinding-finish, as the final finishing treatment in this stage, cleaning treatment is executed using an abrasive grain-contg. aq. soln. contg. 5 to 20wt.% abrasive grains having 0.01 to 0.3μm grain size to regulate the content of S in the surface layer part in the surface film of the steel to <=0.06 by S/Fe, i.e., the peak intensity ratio to Fe by an Auger electron spectroscopic analysis device, and to regulate the content of C in the boundary between the surface film and ferrite to <=0.08 by C/Fe, i.e., the peak intensity ratio with Fe by the Auger electron spectroscopic analysis device. |
