PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of ink sucked uselessly without making the structure of an apparatus complex by making prescribed intervals of regeneration of the recording head during the stop of recording changeable by environmental conditions. SOLUTION: When a carriage sensor 14 confirms that an ink-jet recording head 10 has returned to the initial position, a control circuit part 23 detects the temperature and humidity in the vicinity of the ink-jet recording head 10 by an environment sensor 24, sets up the value of a built in timer, and actuates it (S2). The control circuit 23, when detects the time-out of the timer (S7), implements regeneration at prescribed intervals. In the regeneration, the discharge of ink from all the discharge nozzles of the ink-jet recording head 10 is done prescribed times (S8), and the discharged ink is absorbed by a cleaning part 15. In this way, the amount of ink sucked uselessly can be reduced without making the structure of the apparatus complex. |
