A section repeat playing method of a magnetic recording playing apparatus are disclosed. The method comprises a step of checking a total pulse number and a level so as to display a tape start point and an end point; a step of memorizing a repeat section defined by a pulse level, a period and the total pulse from a selected repeat start point to the repeat end point and simultaneously converting a play mode to a stop mode; a step of determining the total pulse number of the compensated section; a step of playing the audio signal at the memorized section; a step of changing the audio play mode to the play stop mode; and a step of stopping the repeat operation in case that the external signal is inputted and enabling the external signal to be operated.
