PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a wire rope, excellent in bending durability and fretting abrasion resistance by laying a Warrington type core strand with side strands and intermediate strands of a cored structure and useful for transmitting a power. SOLUTION: This wire rope is obtained by laying eight intermediate strands 12 of a cored structure prepared by laying plural wiresδ11 having the same thickness around a Warrington type core strand 11 obtained by laying one core wireδ00 , plural intermediate ply wiresδ01 on the outside thereof, plural outer ply wiresδ02 andδ03 of two kinds having different diameters on the outermost side once and then laying six Warrington type side wires 13 prepared by laying one core wireδ20 , plural intermediate ply wiresδ21 on the outside thereof and plural two kinds of outer ply wiresδ22 andδ23 having different diameters on the outermost side once and forming a three-ply strand structure. The wire rope is useful for transmitting a power.
