PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-base black recording ink which gives a record with a good black tone and a high density and is suitable for ink jet recording. SOLUTION: Duasyn Direct Black HEF-SF (R) (a dye produced by Hoechst A.G. and giving a 0.005wt.% aq. soln. exhibiting a transmitted color with an L* of 1.5, a C*ab of 6.9, and a hue angle H deg. of 274.1 deg.), Pro-Jet Fast Magenta 2 (R) (a dye produced by Zeneca, Ltd. and giving a 0.015wt.% aq. soln. exhibiting a hue angle H deg. of 27.4 deg.), glycerin, and diethylene glycol mono-n-butyl ether are put into pure water, stirred, and filtered. The resultant ink compsn. exhibits, when diluted 200 times with water, a transmitted color with an L* of 0.8 and a C*ab of 3.1 and is jetted well when used for recording with an ink jet head, giving a record with an L* of 36.7, a C*ab of 3.1, and an OD value of 1.10, i.e., with a good black tone and a high density. |
