PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a font management method by which it is possible to improve the efficiency of managing a font and enhancing the use of the font previously obtained by making it possible to reuse information on the use of the font. SOLUTION: This font management method to be applied to a device with a printing mechanism is applicable to a device with a printing mechanism used on a network, and has a means for bidirectional communications, through which a processing function possessed by other peripheral equipment including a host device connected to a network can be used as the function of a device with a printing mechanism. In addition, this method is applied to at least, part of font data 1 downloaded from other peripheral equipment including a host device, and classified as a plurality of groups 11-14 to be stored in a plurality of tables, based on which the management of the font data including how to call it and the timing of calling it is performed. |
