PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the rapid rise of toner density and uneven density and to prevent the base staining of an image, uneven density on an image and toner scattering, etc., by limiting the maximum replenishing quantity of recycled toner to a developing device. SOLUTION: The image forming device is separately provided with a process cartridge with a photoreceptor, a developing device and a toner recycling mechanism for recycling the toner remaining on the photoreceptor built-in, and a toner replenishing device for supplying the toner to the process cartridge. A path 20 communicating with the toner supply path side of the developing device is installed on the terminal end part of the recycling toner carrying means of the toner recycling mechanism. Provided that (ma) denotes the maximum quantity per unit time of the recycled toner carried by the recycled toner carrying means, (mb) denotes the maximum quantity per unit time of the recycled toner discharged from the path 20 and (mc) denotes the mean generation quantity per unit time of the residual toner, the opening area of the path 20 is set so that (ma)>(mb)>(mc) may be satisfied. |
