FIELD: nondestructive testing, testing of conductive objects. SUBSTANCE: levelling of sensitivity to flaws of various orientation and decreased probability of omission of local flaws are achieved by arrangement of magnetosensitive elements in asymmetry to line crossing area of sensitive element at any angle. Measuring element of electromagnetic converter for flaw detection has identical magnetosensitive elements 1-4 with rectangular active areas. These elements are so arranged that they form square frame. External sides d of this frame are equal to a+b+z, where a and b are sides of rectangle limiting active area magnetosensitive elements 1-4; z is gap between bigger and smaller sides of adjacent magnetosensitive elements. Magnetosensitive elements 1-4 are electrically interconnected and each element is connected in opposition with reference to adjacent ones.
