PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the occurrence of surface stain on an image by preventing the incomplete recovery of restuck toner by making a developing effective width longer than the length of a cleaning member in an axial direction so as to make the length of the cleaning member in the axial direction within the developing effective width which is the length of a range where developing is actually performed in the axial direction of a developer carrying and feeding member. SOLUTION: The developing effective width H is set to be longer than the length L of a cleaning roller 12 in the axial direction so as to make the length L of the cleaning roller 12 in the axial direction within the range of the developing effective width H. Thus, even if the cleaning roller 12 rattles in the axial direction in the midst of rotating operation and the toner is restuck to the end part area D1 of a photoreceptor 1 in the axial direction from the cleaning roller 12, the toner in its area is recovered by the roller 5 without hindrance because the developing effective width H of the roller 5 exists. Even if the cleaning roller 12 moves to rightward by rattling in the axial direction and a toner stuck area is made on the side of a right end, it is similarly recovered without the hindrance. |
