PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a display device whose numerical aperture is high. SOLUTION: A picture element electrode 110 is constituted so that one part thereof is superposed on wiring 101 arranged in a grating state. By constituting it in such a way, the wiring 101 can be made to function as a black matrix and the numerical aperture can be made large to the maximum. Besides, the problem of capacity in an area where the picture element electrode and the wiring are superposed is reduced by using a resin material as an interlayer insulating film.
