<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately determine the distance from a vehicle to an obstacle through viewing so that at the time of backing and stopping the vehicle, it is stopped in a desired position with respect to the obstacle behind it. SOLUTION: A high-mount stop lamp has rear-view light sources provided at its right and left ends independently of a stop display light source, and the angle of the optical axis of rear-viewing light can be set freely by means of an adjusting screw, thus allowing the distance to an obstacle behind the vehicle to be determined from the point where the right and left rear-viewing light rays cross.</p> |
