PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record more the sound data by reducing the information amounts of the recorded sound data according to the priority when the recording capacity of the sound data are insufficient when the capacity of a recording medium is limited. SOLUTION: When a sound signal is inputted from a sound recording means 11, a recording remaining amounts detection means 13 detects the free capacity of the recording medium 12. A priority decision control means 14 decides the priority for the sound signal based on the prescribed importance, and an information reduction means 55 controls the information amounts of the recorded sound data. Then, the input sound data are recorded on the enlarged free capacity. A reproducing means 16 reproduces all the sound data so that the contents are found.
