The bin (10) is generally parallelepiped or prismatic in shape with a sloping front wall (14) to facilitate unloading. It has a horizontal bar (16) with a ring (18) by which it can be lifted, the bar being connected to pivots (24) on the bin sides by two levers (20, 22). The bin has at least one hook (26) pivoted to the lower rear end of its side wall, able to move between two stops, and when the levers (20, 22) are dropped towards the rear the horizontal bar is able to pass over the hook(s), engaging with them when it is lifted by the ring. The lifting effort on the horizontal bar tips the bin until it reaches a vertical position, when the hooks disengage from the bar by gravity and drop down against their other stops, allowing the bin to be lowered against after emptying.
