<p>The container is made from an upper hollow section (12) with a neck (13) and an open lower end with a flat edge (11A), and a lower hollow section (14) which has an upper edge (11B) to engage with the upper section, and a closed base. The two sections are butt-welded together by ultrasound to form a permanent joint. The two sections of the container are made from a resin material which can be injection-moulded, and have a wall thickness selected to withstand ultrasound welding. The joint can be situated close to the base or the top of the container.</p> |
