<p>A seat for example a wheelchair comprises a seat part (1), a backrest part (3), armrests (5) and footrests (7). The seat part and the backrest part have a commonly adjustable width, by the fact that side support portions (39) can be inserted more or less in portions of a central frame part (11) and that transversal bars (77, 79) in the backrest have adjustable widths. The seat part (1) has further an adjustable front edge and rear edge, what is obtained by means of adjustable front and rear support portions (19, 25). The inclination of the backrest part (3) is adjusted by means of clamping screws mounted in the side plate portions (61, 69) provided with slots (65, 71). The height of the backrest part (3) can be adjusted by displacing the upper portion (75, 79) thereon. The inclination of the footrests (7) is varied by means of hinges (109) having a large friction.</p> |
