Scanning device arrangement

The symbols are line codes (3) on each side of the dice or other rotating body (2), driven by a motor and continually scanned by the laser scanner (1) and the data passed to the control unit of the playing machine, so that the results of the game can be displayed. The beam (4) of the scanner is focussed on the code and the scanner can be located near to the rotating or revolving body and one of the symbols (dots in this case), not easily visible from outside and by the player.
