Single row paper web drying section giving good low-cost curl control

A section for drying a running web, especially a paper web manufactured by a paper machine has at least one single row drying group which has a number of drying cylinders and web guiding rollers over which the web is led in a meandering path together with an endless felt. A number of additional drying cylinders (17) with a separate felt (19) driven by web guiding rollers (21, 21a, 21b) is supplied and put in relation to the drying cylinders (5, 5a, 5b) of the single row drying group (3) in such a way that the web (23) is led in a meandering path around both the original group and the additional drying cylinders. The number of the additional cylinders is less than the number in the original group, i.e. between one and four, preferably two or three.
