Composite membranes for separating water vapour from gas mixtures

The invention concerns a composite membrane made up of a support membrane of, in particular, microporous material plus, attached, to it, an active layer. The active layer is made from at least one originally water-soluble cellulose derivative which is rendered water-insoluble, in particular by cross-linking it with a dialdehyde. The composite membrane proposed is particularly suitable for use in separating water vapour from mixtures of gases.
