Positive connection afforded by ring-fitted lugs in connector recess

The recess (6) in the connecting element (5) runs peripherally from its apex to its endface facing away from the annular component (1) so that the axial distance between the recess and the connector endface facing the annular component necessarily increases round the perimeter. The periphery of the recess comes in the form of a circle, an ellipse or similar and the component is designed as an angled disc whose radial surface (2) forms the race of an axial bearing in automatic transmission etc. The disc comprises surface and a flange (3) extending parallel to the centre axis (8), the flange furnished with equi-spaced holding lugs (4) which engage the recess. When the disc is thrust onto the connector, the lugs are forcibly flexed outwards so as to engage the recess.
