Printing preparation device

The printing preparation device includes the press form cylinder with at least one printing surface carrying printing foil. It has a single printing foil storage spool (5) for each printing surface. There is a clamping rail (6) in the cylinder to clamp the beginning of the foil. Outside the cylinder there is an external unit (4) with a storage device (10) for the used foil, with a separating device (11) for the end of the used foil. There is a gripping and transporting device (14) to deal with the beginning and/or the end of the foil between the form cylinder and the external unit.
