Air=fuel mixture combustion process

The combustion process involves the creation of a selection of counter-running pocket vortices in the flame. This is done through delta wings, which form a flame holder (8) inside a combustion tube (1) of quadratic cross section. The delta wings are formed from two rectangular plates (9,10) which are fitted symmetrically to each other and to the axis (7) of the combustion tube on its walls (4,5,6). They are at an angle to the axis of the combustion tube and to the relevant walls, to which they are attached.
