A microwave dish is disclosed comprising a base (11) having a layer (13) incorporating a microwave heatable material, ferrite. The layer has a main region (15) towards the centre of the layer and a peripheral region (14). The main region has a greater proportion of microwave heatable material than the peripheral region so that in use a greater amount of microwave radiation is absorbed by the main region than by the peripheral region. |
