Infrared absorption gas analyser with pyroelectric detector element

The analyser performs measurements in a cuvette (4) between an infrared radiation source (3) and the pyroelectric element (51) in a holder (21). The connection between the element and holder incorporates a decoupling system based on a foam rubber or silicone ring (14). The spring-mass system thus formed is adjusted to resonate at the lower limit of the frequency range (e.g. 0.5 Hz to 10 kHz) to be evaluated. The mass is constituted by the detector element, a preamplifier (52), the sleeve (53) into which these are fitted and a lens (54). A thin flexible wire decouples the preamplifier mechanically from the processing circuit (7).
