The spring accumulator during the backward movement of the piston under gas pressure effect of the firing is charged. The gas cylinder (14) can be aligned with the barrel axis, and is formed as a guide casing for an absorber bolt (16) serving as piston. The spring accumulator is a pressure spring (24) inserted between the rear cylinder base of the guide casing and the absorber bolt. At the rear end of the guide casing a venting aperture (26) of large cross-section and at the front end of the guide casing a venting aperture (28) of small cross-section are provided. For eradicating Vacuum at the front side of the absorber bolt liberating devices are provided in guide rings (18,22) at both ends.
