The present invention is to provide a method for deciding a threshold voltage of an optical receiver in an optic transmitting system. The method for deciding the threshold voltage of the optical receiver in the optic transmitting system according to the present invention comprises the steps of: averaging on signals and off signals; converting an optical signal received through an optical fiber to an electrical signal and standardizing the electrical signal; comparing a standardized signal with an average value and classifying the standardized signal as an on signal or as an off signal; calculating variance of noise of a classified signal in response to a corresponding classification; and calculating a threshold voltage by converting each the variance of the noise to square. Thereby, the present invention can considerably improve the quality of the signal.
