PURPOSE:To easily execute the setting of a position and the removal of a coat by arranging a tension roller and a hard clamp on the side close to the terminal of an optical fiber core and on the side far from the terminal respectively to hold the optical fiber straightly. CONSTITUTION:A coat removing blades 4 are brought into contact with the optical fiber core 1 straightly held at two points by the hard clamp 2 and the tension roller 3, and after cutting the coat, moved in the arrow direction to expose an optical fiber glass part 5 by the necessary length. Under said state, a clamping device is sent to a station for cutting off the optical fiber glass part 5 like a mirror surface. In the station, a cutting push-up head 7 is raised to the optical fiber glass part 5 and a cutting knife 6 is descended, so that the optical fiber glass part 5 is cut off like a mirror surface and the cut optical fiber core 1 is discharged to the right side by the rotation of the tension roller 3 to end terminal processing. Consequently, the positional setting of the optical fiber core can be easily executed and the coat can be removed and the core 1 can be cut off under the holding state of the core 1. |
