Pressure relief valve for large rate of flow

A pressure relief valve with flow rates of about 8 000 l/min has a valve housing (2) consisting of a control plunger (4) and a valve plunger (20) with associated springs (14, 33). The valve plunger is arranged so as to be displaceable against a regulating spring supported on the control-plunger side and has a passage hole (31) which has a smaller diameter than the blind hole (8) in the control plunger. This special design of the valve ensures uniform opening and reclosure of the pressure relief valve at the high flow rates described, corresponding packing rings (27, 29) composed of Teflon being used in the region of the valve plunger.
