A method of autoclaving porous pieces, esp. calcium hydrosilicate-bonded mouldings, involves a heat-up phase, a combined hardening and drying phase and a subsequent pressure redn. phase, steam-contg. heating medium being vented in a regulated manner from the autoclave in the hardening phase and opt. being re-used at least for partially heating up another autoclave. The novelty is that, at the end of the drying phase, the rim zones of the pieces are subjected to isobaric cooling by circulation of satd. steam. |
