Guiding catheter with ultrasound imaging capability in combination with an electrophysiology catheter

A steerable guiding catheter (10,11) having distal ultrasound imaging transducer (18) for use in guiding an electrophysiology catheter (15). The guiding catheter (10,11) includes a steering mechanism (21,70) in order to steer the tip of the catheter so that the electrophysiology catheter (15) may be steered to a desired location within the body of a patient.
