<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily discharge sheets having various sizes and having been conveyed through a side registration system in a condition in which the number of discharge rolls located at a sheet discharge port is made to be as small as possible. SOLUTION: In a sheet discharging device in a sheet conveying system in which sheets having various widths are conveyed with their one side being guided along a common single phantom reference line, a first rear end wall 122A1 of a sheet tray part corresponds substantially to the width of a sheet having a smallest width. Two drive rolls 1211 , 1212 , are arranged corresponding to this width. A second rear end wall 122A2 is located, being shifted from the first end wall in a direction reverse to the discharging direction, by a value corresponding to the size of a horizontal surface part 122D. Since the drive rolls 1211 , 1212 are deviated, the trailing end of a sheet on the second end wall 122A2 is discharged with a lag during discharge of a sheet having a large width. However, with this lag, the entire rear end of the sheet is dropped and stored into a sheet tray part 122, substantially simultaneously.</p> |
