PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent image quality from being deteriorated by camera shake and to obtain a high image quality photographic print by setting the rise shutter speed of a program chart in an exposure controller according to the focal distance of a photographing lens and the dimensional ratio of a photographic image plane. SOLUTION: A shutter control circuit 57 and a diaphragm control circuit 58 control the operation of a shutter mechanism and a diaphragm mechanism in accordance with shutter speed and a diaphragm value calculated in a control circuit 51 by additionally introducing substance luminance information, focal distance information and photographic image plane size information. In the case photographing is performed by setting the dimension of the photographic image plane to the dimension different from 24mm×36mm, the shutter speed is set so as to satisfy 1/to =α.(1/f) concerning the minimum value of the rise shutter speed 1/to (sec) of the program chart for controlling exposure, where f is the focal distance (mm) of the photographing lens andαis the image plane dimensional ratio to the photographic image plane dimension 24mm×36mm.
