JIG AND METHOD FOR CONNECTING FIBER RIBBON CONNECTOR STACK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To insert pins into a ferrule stack together in a short time by pressing the pins in the mutually opposite directions of the pin holes of the ferrule stack by a pressing means which engages an engagement wall part. SOLUTION: This jig is equipped with an array support means 15 which arrays and supports positioning pins 4 opposite the pin fitting holes of the ferrule stack and the pressing means 30 which presses the pins arrayed and supported by the array support means 15 in parallel. Then the array support means 15 has plural insertion holes into which pins are inserted, a recessed part into which a ferrule is inserted, and an engagement wall part 26 that the pressing means 30 engages; and plural pins are inserted into and supported in the insertion holes of the array support means 15 and the pressing means which engages the engagement wall part of the array means presses the pins mutually. Then the pins are previously inserted into the pin array support means (internal unit) 15 and an end unit as the pressing means 30 is slid along the guide wall of the internal unit 15 to insert the pins into the pin holes.
