PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the ceramic firing method and firing furnace for producing the ceramic with the defective appearance due to sticking, deforming and chipping reduced and excellent in uniformity with higher mass-productivity. SOLUTION: A ceramic compact increased in mechanical strength is fired in a specified temp. range including the maximum firing temp. in the cylindrical heat-resistant vessel in a core tube 12 by using a horizontal tube furnace while rotating the core tube, hence the compact is uniformly fired in terms of heat and the atmosphere while receiving an appropriate impact by rotation, a defective appearance is not caused, and the characteristic is not varied. Especially, as the compact is rotated in the specified temp. range to increase the mechanical strength, the compact is not broken even if the filling rate is increased, and a ceramic reduced in defective appearance and excellent in uniformity is produced with good mass-productivity. |
