PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an interior material having an excellent appearance, and enable it to be used as an interior material as it were without giving secondary work or decorative work by forming an interior material for an automotive vehicle with olefin resin foam beads having no hexagonal pattern of beads on its surface or no appearance thereon substantially. SOLUTION: In manufacturing interior materials such as an instrument panel, consol, dashboard, pillar, and a head rest by the use of a pair of heating molds comprising an upper mold 1 and lower mold 2, a pillar 4 as an interior material is obtained by filling olefin resin foam beads, i.e., polypropylene foam beads in the lower mold 2, and pressing the upper and lower heating molds under the condition of being heated at 100 deg.C for approximately 60 seconds. The surface of the pillar is formed having no appearance of the hexagonal pattern of foam beads by forming a molten skin film. For olefin resin, there is used resin showing a bending elastic modulus of 10000-25000kg/cm<2> at a melting point of 140-170 deg.C. |
