SOLUTION: In an arithmetic processing part 4, coordinate transformation formulas necessary for an area on the map to be displayed and for making the bird's-eye view picture are decided in a display area, etc., decision part 6 based on the outputs of a display reference point decision part 2 and a horizontal compression rate decision part 3, and further, map information necessary for the display is selected and read from an external storage 7 in a data access part 7 based on the area for the display. And, by holding the read map data in an internal storage 8, and performing a coordinate transformation on the map data held in the internal storage part 8 in a map data coordinate transformation part 9 based on the coordinate transformation formula decided by the display area, etc., decision part 6, the transformed map data are outputted from a picture data output part 10 to a picture display part 5. |
