SUBSTANCE: tensioner has housing 12, limiting closed cylindrical slot 14, and piston 20 installed in slot 14 for sliding and intended for acting onto step 24 engaging with endless tie 26 to provide required tensioning. Bottom 18 of slot has hole 28 made for communicating with liquid source. Liquid in source is under pressure. Source is closed by resilient plate (leaf spring) 36 which forms bypass valve.
