PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission system and transmission method with which temporally related plural compressed data streams can be dynamically synchronized. SOLUTION: A compressor 14 compresses a video signal, generates a compressed video signal and generates frame encoding time required for compressing the video signal. A compressor 15 compresses an sound signal and generates a compressed sound signal. A control information encoder 16 inserts the frame encoding time into control information. An expander 22 expands the compressed video signal and outputs the video signal. An expander 23 expands the compressed sound signal and supplies the sound signal to a delay circuit 25. A control information decoder 24 decides delay time to delay the sound signal while using a look-up table based on the frame encoding time. The sound signal is delayed just for this delay time and outputted by the delay circuit 25. |
