PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an excellent focus state without depending on the contrast pattern of a subject in spite of a simple, inexpensive space-saving type camera. SOLUTION: This camera is provided with a stroboscopic device constituted of an Xe tube 4 and a stroboscopic circuit 3, and the stroboscopic circuit 3 allows the Xe tube 4 to emit light according to a 1st irradiation pattern for illuminating a subject. An AF part 1 measures the distance of the subject, and a CPU 10 switches the irradiation by the Xe tube 4 to a 2nd irradiation pattern for range-finding by switching a switchable optical system 2 at the time of range-finding by the AF part 1. |
