PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to inexpensively produce a mirror which is suitable for vehicles and is hardly breakable by joining a film structure formed by applying a coating of a reflection material on a plastic material of an optical grade onto a surface formed to the shape corresponding to that on a base member. SOLUTION: The flawing preventive coating 10 is applied on the one surface of a polycarbonate sheet 11 of the optical grade of, for example, about 500μm and aluminum 12 is deposited by evaporation at about 500 angstrom thickness on the uncoated surface of this sheet 11. A protective layer 13 of silicon oxide is adhered onto this film. The sheet of the film structure formed by coating with a transfer adhesive 14 is thereafter cut to a suitable length and width in order to fit the sheet to the base member and the cut piece is adhered to a base forming mold 16 consisting of a hardly breakable material, such as polycarbonate and ABS. The base forming mold 16 is formed to the shape of, for example, a back mirror of the vehicle.
